Finished size

13″ across at widest points

Materials

  • DMC “Top This!” (approx. 98 yds) (The yarn is about a bulky weight and includes the animal head.)
  • Suggested crochet hook: 7mm
  • Needle (for weaving ends)

Gauge

About 5.5″ across after round 3.

About 8″ across after round 5.

Special Stitches

Small Shell (SmSh): [Dc, ch 1, dc, ch 1, dc] in indicated sp.

Large Shell (LgSh): [Dc, ch 1, dc, ch 1, dc, ch 1, dc, ch 1, dc] in indicated sp.

*This should actually be written as [(dc, ch 1) 4 times, dc] in indicated sp. I get too many emails when I include too much in the way of abbreviations so I’ve written it out completely for both of these shells.

Notes

The yarn here is a continuous strand of only 98 yards of different colors and textures to match the included animal head. I would have loved to make a lovey size project, but, with less than 100 yards, I was limited. You can make larger projects by including a different yarn in the same project, but I wanted to see what I could do with only one ball of Top This.

This project isn’t intended for babies. It’s more of a comfort toy for toddlers.
