Finished size

5″ height, 50″ circumference

Materials

  • Valley Yarns 5/2 mercerized cotton, approx. 200 yds of color 5211 lime green (A) and 100 yds of color 2194 algiers blue (B)
  • Suggested hook: H-8 (5mm)
  • Yarn needle (for weaving ends)


Omega Cotton Thread Size 5

Morado

Gauge

16 sc equals approx. 4″; after round 9, height is 2″

Note

Fasten off after each color change.


Instructions

Round 1: With A, ch 200, without twisting chain, form a ring, sl st to first ch, ch 1, sc in each ch around, sl st to first sc, turn.

Note: Please note that I have turned in some of the rounds (not all of them). It was the look I was after. If you don’t want to turn, there are no pattern police. You can work all from the same side, if you like.

Rounds 2-5: Ch 1, sk sl st joining, sc in each sc around, sl st to first sc, turn.

Round 6: Rep previous round except, change to B on final sl st, turn.

Round 7: With B, ch 1, sk sl st joining, sc in first and next sc, *ch 6, sk 3 sc, sc in next 2 sc, rep from * to last 3 sc, ch 6, sk 3 sc, sl to to first sc.

Round 8: Ch 3, sk first sc, dc in next sc, *ch 4, sk ch-6 sp, dc in next 2 sc, rep from * to last ch-6 sp, ch 4, sl st to top of beginning ch 3.

Round 9: Ch 3, sk first dc, dc in next dc, *ch 3, sc around both ch-4 sp and ch-6 sp from round below at the same time, ch 3, dc in next 2 dc, rep from * to last ch-4 sp, ch 3, sc around both ch-4 sp and ch-6 sp from round below at the same time, ch 3, drop B, with A, sl st to top of beginning ch 3.

Round 10: With A, ch 1, sc in same st as joining, sc in next dc, *ch 3, sc in next 2 dc, rep from * around, ch 3, sl st to first sc.

Round 11: Ch 1, sc in first and next sc, *sc directly into next 3 chs, sc in next 2 sc, rep from * to last ch-3 sp, sc directly into next 3 chs, sl st to first sc, turn.

Rounds 12-15: Ch 1, sk sl st joining, sc in each sc around, sl st to first sc, turn.

Round 16: Rep previous round except, change to B on final sl st, turn.

Rounds 17-25: Rep rounds 7-15.

Round 26: Ch 1, sk sl st joining, sc in each sc around, sl st to first sc, fasten off.

Finishing

With yarn needle, weave in loose ends carefully.
