Notes

When working a sc row after a Bobble row, work 1 sc in first half of Bobble and 1 sc in second half of Bobble.

The bobble used in this pattern is something I created myself. It creates a nice, small, soft bobble which I found to be most suitable for this design. But, you’ll want to be aware that the bobble is created on the back side of the row.

Special Stitches

Bobble: Insert hook in indicated st, yo, pull lp through, ch 3, yo, pull through 2 lps on hook, insert hook in same st, yo, pull lp through, insert hook in next st, yo, pull through 3 lps on hook. (Bobble is worked across 2 sts.)

Decrease Single Crochet (dec sc): Insert hook in indicated st, yo, pull lp through, insert hook in next st, yo, pull lp through, yo, pull through 3 lps on hook.

Hat

Row 1: With size H crochet hook and B, ch 6, sc in second ch from hook and in each rem ch, turn—5 sc.

Note: I know you don’t see it often but it’s necessary in this design. You will join each round and then turn. You don’t have to flip the hat inside-out. Just change your orientation to work from the inside and then go back to working on the outside.
