Technique: Regular Crochet
When I was freelance designing for Caron International Yarns, I was asked to make a graduated spike stitch throw. I had seen so many of them that I really wanted to do something different; something with more symmetry.
There’s nothing wrong with the typical spike stitch throw, but I like to do something unexpected.
This is what happened with this throw. Instead of simply row after row of the graduated spikes, I turned the piece upside down and worked them on the other side as well.
What evolved from my stubbornness is so cool! I love the way this project looks. It was just a simple mirror image of the spike stitch but it works so well.
