Notes

Project is worked bottom-up, starting with unjoined rounds, changing to joined rounds once the stitch pattern is set up. When working in unjoined rounds, use a stitch marker or scrap piece of yarn to mark the last stitch of each round so you won’t lose your place in the round.

When changing to a new color at the end of a round, drop the old color and carry up the new color. There is no need to cut off at each color change unless you prefer it. When changing color, be careful to ensure that the carried yarn isn’t too tight or it will cause vertical buckling of the fabric.

Gauge

After round 4, measures 2″ x 4″

In main stitch pattern, 26 sts x 16 rounds measures 4″

Finishing

Due to the nature of the main body stitch pattern, the finished item will be a bit ruffly in sort of an accordion fashion. The stitches need to be relaxed. You can either do this by shaping and placing something heavy on top or by dipping in water, shaping and then allowing to dry.

Weave in all ends securely.
