Easy Sparkle Double Thick Scarf Free Crochet Pattern for Beginners

The gorgeous colorway of Lion Brand Mandala Sparkle is perfect for my fascination with unicorns. It’s so wonderful!

I’ve made my project in child size for a special little girl I know but the length can easily be increased by adding more rows. The double thickness makes the scarf comfy and squishy.

Special Stitches

Double Crochet Two Together (dc2tog): Yo, insert hook in stitch indicated, yo, pull loop through, yo, pull through 2 loops on hook, yo, insert hook in next stitch, yo, pull loop through, yo, pull through 2 loops on hook, yo, pull through 3 loops on hook.

Notes

This project is worked in rounds of double crochet, joined with slip stitch at the end. It is all worked on one side and is not turned. The beginning chain 2 counts as the first double crochet and is counted in the stitch count provided at the end of the rounds.

The result is an extra thick, double-sided scarf. The stitches may seem a little loose, but this is necessary due to the double thickness. You’ll want something more flexible.
