Materials

  • Schachenmayr Tahiti, 99% cotton, light fingering, 306 yds per 1.75 oz: 1 (2) balls or 306 (612) total yds required (shown in color 7642 jazz)
  • Suggested hook size: 5mm Tunisian crochet hook (adjust hook size to meet gauge or not; it’s not a tension crucial project)

Yarn Notes

When I purchased this yarn at the above link, it wasn’t what I expected. I had already used this yarn in the Malibu Fling Wrap HERE and I was expecting the same self-striping. As it turns out, it was a variegated instead of self-striping and I really love the way it looks in this project, even more than if it had been self-striping!

I wrote to the yarn manufacturer because, if you are doing this project in the recommended yarn, I didn’t want you to be disappointed. Here is the response so you will know which are variegated and which are self-striping:

Thank you for your inquiry! Most of the line has long color changes. However, the newest colors, 7624/Carnival, 7616/Breeze, 7642/Jazz, 7625/Santa Fe, and 7654/Lagoon, all have the short color changes you are now encountering. That was indeed on purpose and will remain consistent.

Gauge

In stitch pattern after blocking, 20 sts for approximately 2 row repeats measures 4″.

Special Stitches

Tunisian Knit Stitch (tks): Notice that each vertical bar goes up into the chain and back down the other side. For Tunisian Knit Stitch, insert hook between these two vertical bars, under the chain, front to back, yarn over, pull loop through. Right-handed video | Left-handed video
