While browsing Ravelry this morning, I found this incredible design from Nerissa Muijs of Miss Neriss Crochet Designs. I am awestruck!
Nerissa has created this hat, perfectly mimicking the brioche look, using post stitches. At first glance, you might think there is mad color changing going on, but, Nerissa has cleverly used only one color per round, dipping down to give the illusion of the color changing.

Here are some things to keep in mind. Nerissa used DK weight yarn. If you want to use worsted weight yarn, you’re going to have a bigger hat unless you tighten up your stitching. The hat works up as almost a slouch, so if you want a close-fitting beanie, reduce the height by adding fewer rounds. And, lastly, this isn’t a beginner project. It’s going to take some practice. Don’t be alarmed if your first try doesn’t work perfectly. Keep trying!

The entry form will load immediately below these words. Wait for it to load. If it doesn’t load, you may need to break out your laptop because some devices (I’m looking at you, iPad) strip the code sometimes.
Enjoy and good luck in the drawing!
Many of you have written to me to ask how you can help support CrochetKim. A Patreon account was suggested but I thought it would be better to provide ad-free PDFs of my patterns so you would get something in return. I'm steadily working on adding PDFs to all my patterns and I've also made this compilation available at a discounted price. You can, of course, view, print, paste to a word processor, convert to PDF, etc. on your own. This is just an extra feature so that people help out, if they want. Thank you to all of you for your overwhelming support and kindness these many years. Enjoy!
