Well, I checked and I double-checked and I triple-checked. Yes, indeed. This IS crochet and it IS free and it IS quite possibly the most stunning thing I have seen in awhile.
First, you’ve got that gorgeous very long self-striping yarn. It’s a light fingering weight so you can get a lot of different looks in a short amount of space. And, to really show off that ability to get different looks, there are several different sections in different stitch patterns.
Jasmin of Morben Designs is the designer and pattern writer for this extraordinary piece of art for your shoulders. She has provided instructions in English (American terms), Dutch and German with written and chart instructions. Please take a look because I am amazed. She has charted each section separately in meticulous detail.
Well done, Jasmin. Outstanding work. I would absolutely nominate this design for one of the year’s finest.

Many of you have written to me to ask how you can help support CrochetKim. A Patreon account was suggested but I thought it would be better to provide ad-free PDFs of my patterns so you would get something in return. I'm steadily working on adding PDFs to all my patterns and I've also made this compilation available at a discounted price. You can, of course, view, print, paste to a word processor, convert to PDF, etc. on your own. This is just an extra feature so that people help out, if they want. Thank you to all of you for your overwhelming support and kindness these many years. Enjoy!
