One of my favorite, new crochet blog independent designers is Ann of Glamour4You. I love her work and I’m always amazed at her incredible designs. They are so modern and so clever and so extraordinary.
If you have any kind of preconceived notion about crochet, just take a browse of Ann’s work and your socks will be proverbially knocked off.
Take these Faux Crochet Outdoor Boots, for example. They are just. So. Awesome. I can’t begin to tell you how much I love them. I would love to own them. My daughter would love to own them. And, what’s the best part? My daughter, a non-crocheter (she’s a knitter, but I digress), could make these!
You just take some interesting yarn (in this case, Deborah Norville Worsted Prints), make chains and glue them on! You could even make different unique patterns with the strands of chains. And, now that you know how it’s done, you can start thinking about the many other things in your life that need to be covered by crochet chains!

This photo below is Braided Glam Peacoat. You can find the pattern HERE for purchase. I’ve decided that this is my favorite project by this designer (today).
Do you see what I mean? Her work absolutely destroys any preconceived notions about crochet and how it’s supposed to look. I really need this jacket in my life.
I’ll be giving away one of these patterns just to show my support of the designer (because, wow). One name will be chosen randomly from all names entered prior to close at 12:00am (CST) on August 15, 2016. The winner will be required to provide me with his/her email address and I will purchase the pattern on Ravelry using the gift option. The pattern will be automatically available to the winner in digital PDF format. Leaving your email address is mandatory to enter. Choose any of the other options for additional entries. Good luck, everyone!
