I loved discovering the work of Christine Roy while browsing for your daily crochet beauty.
She is quite talented and makes some incredible, wonderfully wearable hats and I’ve fallen in love with them.
Christine is in France and many of her patterns are available in both French and English. Since she is fluent in both knit and crochet, you will discover that she also uses both in her designs, which is delightful!
Once you review the Happy Little Dots pattern, you will see that Christine has used knit for the ribbing and then the pattern goes straight into the woven stitch, worked from bottom to the top, decreasing along the way.
If you are unfamiliar with woven stitch, you may know it as linen stitch.
For this design, it is completely okay if you don’t know how to knit. You can make your ribbing in crochet with front-back post ribbing, back loop only single crochet or even back loop only slip stitch.
Don’t let the little bit of knit deter you.
