I’m sure you’re familiar with Dedri’s work. Who doesn’t know about the amazing Sophie’s Universe, right? Dedri has so many other incredible designs to explore once you’ve made the Sophie.
This beautiful baby blanket is named Lydia. Dedri used a lightweight, summery cotton which is listed at Ravelry as a fingering weight. It’s the cotton which gives this blanket its gorgeous professionally-finished look. If fingering weight is too fine for you, try a sport or DK weight cotton. - Patons Grace
- Knit Picks CotLin
- Knit Picks Shine Sport
- Cascade Ultra Pima
- Omega Sinfonia
These are all lightweight. There is absolutely no reason why you can’t use a heavier weight. Your project will simply be bigger. Some cottons have a tendency to bleed colors when washing so be sure to test your cotton before you wash.
As with all of her designs, Dedri always adds exquisite details, making her projects stand out. In this case, I am so in love with this beautiful floral trim around the entire blanket. Just gorgeous!

Many of you have written to me to ask how you can help support CrochetKim. A Patreon account was suggested but I thought it would be better to provide ad-free PDFs of my patterns so you would get something in return. I'm steadily working on adding PDFs to all my patterns and I've also made this compilation available at a discounted price. You can, of course, view, print, paste to a word processor, convert to PDF, etc. on your own. This is just an extra feature so that people help out, if they want. Thank you to all of you for your overwhelming support and kindness these many years. Enjoy!
