Have a look at this project by Marilyn Losee for Caron yarns. This design is simply basic granny squares. You make strips of them and join the yarn along the long edges to make a trim. You have three strips of squares and you seam them. So easy!
Now, why does this look so different? It looks so different and unique because of embellishment. Never underestimate the power of embellishment.
Once you have your granny square strips joined, you’ll attach some cute little flower appliques with some vine embroidery and leaves. Positively adorable! I love to see an old favorite take on new life with a simple variation like this.
Marilyn has used readily-available Caron Simply Soft for this project. You’ll need four skeins of a primary color and only one skein each of the secondary colors.
