For several years, I did freelance design work for Caron yarns. During that time, Margret Willson was also doing freelance work for them. I didn’t know her personally and I can’t recall whether we ever chatted through email, but I followed the work of the other designers who were working for Caron since I would also load the pattern information on Ravelry. I always loved seeing Margret’s work and was always amazed at how much work she was able to produce!
I love this cute jacket. It’s structured and works well for office and leisure. Just look at the tailored back in this photo.
This project is worked in separate pieces then seamed. Note that the fronts will seem really small because the majority of the front will be the pretty lacy border after you’ve assembled everything. Lastly, you’ll add your favorite buttons and it’s ready to wear.
It was so fun for all of us when Caron started producing Naturally Caron products of Spa and Country. I especially loved Spa which was an acrylic/bamboo blend and so pretty in this jacket. It was light as a feather and all the projects I made from it were outstanding. So soft and light and wonderful. I was sad to see the yarn go away and it’s been difficult to find something for substitution. Here are some possibilities. I haven’t been able to test them, but have a look and see what you think.
- Simply Soft Light (this is the size 3 version, not the size 4 version)
- Lion Brand Collection Cotton Bamboo
- Universal Bamboo Pop

Many of you have written to me to ask how you can help support CrochetKim. A Patreon account was suggested but I thought it would be better to provide ad-free PDFs of my patterns so you would get something in return. I'm steadily working on adding PDFs to all my patterns and I've also made this compilation available at a discounted price. Thank you to all of you for your overwhelming support and kindness these many years. Enjoy!
