Have a look at this outstanding crescent-shaped shawl from Johanna Lindahl of Mijo Crochet. Incredible work, isn’t it? Johanna lives in Sweden so you probably won’t have easy access to the same fingering weight yarn she used if you live in the US. Note that she recommends any weight of yarn as long as you use a hook suitable for it.

I recommend that you use a natural fiber instead of man-made fiber so it will block out. A project like this deserves to be opened up with lots of space in between the stitches.
We are so fortunate that we have international crochet symbols available to us because it makes it possible for English speakers to enjoy crochet patterns from all over the world. There are three charts, one for each section of the shawl. This is a perfect starter project for someone learning to read charts too! The stitches are intuitive and, if you’ve ever done any lace at all, you should be able to pick these up fairly quickly.
Chart 3 is for the outer trim, so it’s a little more complex than the other two. It’s almost like you’ve got a built-in class, just for learning how to read charts. Now that the hectic holiday season is over, give yourself a chance to learn something new and create something beautiful at the same time!

Leaving your email address is mandatory to enter. Choose any of the other options for additional entries. Good luck, everyone!
Many of you have written to me to ask how you can help support CrochetKim. A Patreon account was suggested but I thought it would be better to provide ad-free PDFs of my patterns so you would get something in return. I'm steadily working on adding PDFs to all my patterns and I've also made this compilation available at a discounted price. You can, of course, view, print, paste to a word processor, convert to PDF, etc. on your own. This is just an extra feature so that people help out, if they want. Thank you to all of you for your overwhelming support and kindness these many years. Enjoy!
