Finished size

14″ x 67″ (not including Fringe Curls)

The project is a simple rectangle, worked short end to short end. Optional Fringe Curls are added after completion of the rectangle.

Materials

  • Red Heart Strata (100 gm/3.5 oz/95 yd): 9 skeins (855 total yards) shown in Coral
  • Suggested hook size: 12mm Tunisian crochet hook (adjust hook size to meet gauge)
  • Suggested hook size: 9mm regular crochet hook

Notes

This yarn is quite bulky and slippery. It will be difficult to weave in ends. You may want to use a crochet hook to weave them in and then fabric glue to hold the ends in place.

Gauge

In main stitch pattern, 11 sts for 6 rows measures 4″.

Special Stitches

Tunisian Simple Stitch (tss): Notice that each vertical bar goes up into the chain and back down the other side. For Tunisian Simple Stitch, insert hook under the front vertical bar in a side-to-side motion, yarn over, pull loop through. Right-handed video | Left-handed video

Stitch Multiple

The primary stitch pattern is a multiple of two, however, you will also require a multiple of three plus one if you want the stitch pattern for the Fringe Curls to work properly. If you want to widen this project and retain the Curls, the simplest way would be to add multiples of six to the original chain count provided.
