“Crochet One-Skein Wonders for Babies” is a crochet pattern book with 101 different projects. The editors are Judith Durant and Edie Eckman. It must have been quite an amazing feat to wrangle together 55 designers for such a huge book!
What I like best about this book is that these are all casual, everyday items. Each project is super cute and I love that mothers will easily be able to use all of them.
With over 100 designs, it’s really not possible for me to pick a favorite but WOW that Zucchini Sleep Sack and Cap by Reyna Thera Lorele on the cover is adorable!
Here is Benjamin bear by Ida Herter. Benjamin is made in bulky yarn for super squishy-ness.
Sweet Baby James Blanket is by Sharon Ballsmith and is worked from the center, in the round. What really draws my eye is that unusual trim. So cute!
Pink Camouflage Cap is by Elizabeth Garcia Kalka. Look at that cute little brim. Isn’t it fabulous? I love the way the colors have pooled on it to make that spiraling design.
There’s another feature of this book that I love. In the back, with the index, there’s a directory of all the pattern and they’re sorted by yarn weight. That’s a truly beautiful thing. You can easily find the projects for the specific yarn weight you have. I love that!

The entry form will load immediately below these words. Wait for it to load. If it doesn’t load, you may need to break out your laptop because some devices (I’m looking at you, iPad) strip the code sometimes.
