Tulip Ridge Cowl

Technique: Regular Crochet
9″ x 33″
- Mirasol Hasa (thick and thin aran weight, alpaca/merino/silk blend) (87 yds per 50g) | color: Orange Flame| approx 348 yds required
- Crochet Hook Size: L (8mm)
- Yarn needle (for weaving ends)
11 stitches x 4 rows in stitch pattern equals 4″
Fan:: 9 dc in same indicated stitch
Cluster (cl):: Yo, insert hook in st indicated, yo, pull up a lp, yo, pull through 2 lps on hook, [yo, insert hook in next st, yo, pull up a lp, yo, pull through 2 lps on hook] twice, yo, pull through 4 lps on hook
To change the size of the project, the stitch multiple is 8, plus 2.
Project is made holding two strands of yarn together as one throughout. Alternatively, a bulky yarn would give the same effect worked with only one strand. Approximately half the yardage would be required if bulky yarn is used.
Project is made flat then seamed to form the cowl.
Row 1: Ch 26, sc in second ch from hook, *sk 3 ch, Fan in next ch, sk 3 ch, sc in next ch, rep from * across, turn.
Row 2: Ch 3, sk sc and dc, *cl across next 3 dc, ch 3, sc in next dc, ch 3, cl across next 3 dc, ch 1, sk dc, sc and dc, rep from * to last Fan, cl across next 3 dc, ch 3, sc in next dc, ch 3, cl across next 3 dc, sk dc, dc in last sc, turn.
Row 3: Ch 1, sc in same dc as turning, *sk cl and ch-3 sp, Fan in sc, sk ch-3 sp and cl, sc in ch-1 sp, rep from * to last 2 ch-3 sps, sk cl and ch-3 sp, Fan in sc, sk ch-3 sp and cl, sc in ch-3 turning ch, turn.
Rows 4-31: Rep rows 2-3.
Row 32: Rep row 2, fasten off.
Form a ring with your fabric by placing your cowl matching first row to last row. Take one side of the fabric for the cowl and turn it upside down. This will form the moebius twist. With yarn needle, seam the cowl together. Weave in the ends carefully and it’s ready to use!
