It’s okay if I show you one of my own designs as your dose of crochet beauty, right?
I designed this afghan for Caron and I was specifically asked to design a graduated spike stitch afghan. I’m sure you’ve seen the Apache Tears afghan. I was asked to use it as inspiration.
What I designed used the same graduated spike stitches, but they face each other to give it a very different look.
This afghan is made in strips, which is the only way I could determine to make the spikes face each other.
And, working in strips makes this a great project for taking along with you. And, perhaps, if you still want to make afghans in the summer months, an afghan worked in strips will certainly be cooler in the lap than an entire afghan.
