- Red Heart “Super Saver” (100% acrylic, aran size 4 weight): 2 skeins white and 1 skein each of topaz (CA), tourmaline (CB), peridot (CC) and almandine (CD)
- Suggested hook sizes: 7mm Tunisian crochet hook and 6.5mm regular crochet hook
- Needle (for weaving ends)
Thank you to Red Heart for providing the yarn used in this project.
There is some curling at the bottom so a border is necessary.
This project is reversible. You have a completely different look on each side. This is the reverse side.
When changing color, close all your stitches as indicated until 2 loops remain on your hook, yarn over and pull through 2 loops with the new color and begin using the new color.
When changing color every other row, it’s not necessary to cut off the yarn. Drop the color not in use. For instance, every other row is white. There is no need to cut off the white at all throughout. You will carry it up the side unless you prefer to cut it. When you change color and there are more than two rows between the next time that color is needed, you should cut off the yarn for that color because it’s too much to carry up and will show and/or snag. If you used only two colors throughout, you wouldn’t need to cut at all.
Color Sequence: You are welcome to use any color sequence you like, of course. Any combination would work. Try it with only two colors so you won’t need to cut the yarn. Or, use one neutral color and use scrap yarn for every other row. I used: *white, CA, white, CB, white, CC, white, CD, [white, CA] twice, [white, CB] twice, [white, CC] twice, [white, CD] twice, rep from *.
In stitch pattern, 12 stitches for 13 rows measures 4″
Tunisian Twisted Knit Stitch (ttwks): Using hook, pull the front vertical bar toward you until the back vertical bar is exposed, insert hook from front of work to back of work, through those two vertical bars, yarn over, pull loop through. Note: A knit stitch can be twisted to the right or to the left. For this pattern, I am using the first one shown in the video. Right-Handed Video | Left-Handed Video
To make this project a different size with these instructions, always chain an even number to start.
