Since learning how to do the Tunisian Simple Stitch Rib, I have wanted to make a project with it.
The lines of interlocking knit look stitches make this project look like a mock brioche which is so fun!
The outstanding yarn is from Lion Brand, called Landscapes. It has a beautiful sheen and the one-ply yarn works wonderfully in Tunisian crochet.

Special Stitches
Tunisian Simple Stitch (tss): Insert hook in a side to side motion (right to left for right-handers or left to right for left-handers) under front vertical bar, yarn over, pull loop through. Simple stitch instruction.
Tunisian Backward Simple Stitch (tbss): To do this stitch, you need to insert your hook going from the opposite direction of the regular simple stitch. Please see the video.
At first, I considered this a twisted simple stitch, but after thinking about it, it is literally inserting your hook in the opposite direction. It takes some practice. In the video above, I’ve grabbed the front vertical bar with the hook tip and turned the hook upward until it bumped over the chain, straight up in the air, yarn over and pull the loop through.
Gauge
13 stitches x 11 rows equals 4″
Skill Level
Yes, this is Tunisian Crochet. But, don’t let that intimidate you. With full video support, this project can even be done by a beginner to Tunisian.
Notes
Project is made flat then seamed.
There may be slight curling at the bottom but this won’t be a problem since the project is seamed into a tube once completed.
