Level of Curling: Light to no curling. More information on the natural curling of Tunisian crochet.
Closing: For this stitch pattern, you will be closing three stitches together at the top. To do this, you yarn over and pull through 4 loops on hook. When working on lace, always remember that there is one loop already on the hook. When you are closing 3 stitches, you are pulling through 4 loops. This symbol is interpreted as: ch 1, yo, pull through 4 loops on hook, ch 1.
Tunisian Knit Stitch (tks): Insert hook from front to back between the front and back vertical bar of the same stitch, yarn over, pull loop through. More information on Tunisian Knit Stitch.
Tunisian Full Stitch (tfs): This stitch is made by pulling up a loop between stitches. Note that each stitch is made up of a front and back vertical bar. When you pull up a loop, you don’t pull up a loop between the front and back vertical bars of the same stitch. That would be a knit stitch. You pull up a bar in between the stitches themselves. Yarn over (yo) Note: When working on the next row following a yarn over, note that the yarn over has created the same front and back vertical bar as you usually see for the stitches. There is a front bar and back bar, they’re just spread apart. In this stitch pattern, you will be working tss at the yarn over position. You will work a tss just like you do any other time: under the front vertical bar.
Stitch Multiple
Chain any multiple of 6, then add 3.

Foundation:
A: Sk first ch, *insert hook in next ch, yo, pull lp through, leave lp on hook, rep from * across.
B: Ch 1, [yo, pull through 2 lps on hook] twice, *ch 1, yo, pull through 4 lps on hook (closing 3 sts), ch 1, [yo, pull through 2 lps on hook] 3 times, rep from * across, 1 lp remains.
Row 1:
A: Sk first vertical bar, 2 tks, *tfs, yo, tfs, 3 tks, rep from * to last 3-st together, tfs, yo, tfs, 2 tks, insert hook under two outer vertical bars of last st, pull lp through.
B: Ch 1, [yo, pull through 2 lps on hook] across, 1 lp remains.
Row 2:
A: Sk first vertical bar, tks to last st, insert hook under two outer vertical bars of last st, yo, pull lp through.
B: Ch 1, [yo, pull through 2 lps on hook] twice, *ch 1, yo, pull through 4 lps on hook (closing 3 sts), ch 1, [yo, pull through 2 lps on hook] 3 times, rep from * across, 1 lp remains.
Rep rows 1-2 for pattern.
Notes: This is a nice stitch that doesn’t curl as so often seen with individual stitches. When working a flat swatch, I will typically make the last stitch under the two outer vertical bars for stability. It isn’t a requirement and I don’t use it for all applications of the same stitch pattern. It’s solely a finishing technique.
