The only tricky bit of this project is making the Popcorn Stitch. If you are unfamiliar with making a true Popcorn Stitch as used in this project, I have used a similar Popcorn in this Angel Square tutorial. Right- and left-handed provided.
Jump to minute 10:13 to view this short little step of joining the top of the double crochet stitches in order to make the Popcorn. Even with there being a different number of double crochets, you’ll be able to see how to remove the hook and place it in the first stitch to pull the last loop through.
Crochet Pattern Instructions
Instructions
First Popcorn:
Ch 3, 5 dc in third ch from hook, gently loosen the loop on hook and remove hook from that loop, insert hook under top 2 loops of first dc, put loosened loop back on hook, tighten slightly and pull through that first dc (Popcorn made).
Next Popcorn:
Ch 3, Popcorn Stitch (see above) in back horizontal bar of third ch from hook.
Repeat “Next Popcorn” until the Garland is desired length, fasten off.
Finishing
Weave in the ends with a sewing needle.
