Finished size

Materials

  • Stylecraft Special DK, 322 yds per 100g, approx. 322 yds required , color Pomegranate
  • Suggested hook: G-6 (4.25mm)
  • Yarn needle (for weaving ends)

Gauge

17 sc measures 4″, measures 2″ high after round 8.

Note

Project is worked in the round, joining with slip stitch after each round.

Crochet Pattern Instructions

Round 1: Ch 200, without twisting chain, form a ring, sl st to first ch, ch 1, sc in each ch around, sl st to first sc.

Note: If you prefer, you can make 200 foundation single crochet (fsc) to begin instead of the traditional foundation chain.

Rounds 2-6: Ch 1, sc in each sc around, sl st to first sc.

Round 7: Ch 1, sc in first and next sc, *ch 6, sk 3 sc, sc in next 2 sc, rep from * to last 3 sc, ch 6, sk 3 sc, sl to to first sc.

Round 8: Ch 3 (counts as first dc, here and throughout), sk first sc, dc in next sc, *ch 4, sk ch-6 sp, dc in next 2 sc, rep from * to last ch-6 sp, ch 4, sl st to top of beginning ch 3.

Round 9: Ch 3, sk first dc, dc in next dc, *ch 3, sc around both ch-4 sp and ch-6 sp from round below at the same time, ch 3, dc in next 2 dc, rep from * to last ch-4 sp, ch 3, sc around both ch-4 sp and ch-6 sp from round below at the same time, ch 3, drop B, with A, sl st to top of beginning ch 3.

Round 10: With A, ch 1, sc in same st as joining, sc in next dc, *ch 3, sc in next 2 dc, rep from * around, ch 3, sl st to first sc.

Round 11: Ch 1, sc in first and next sc, *sc directly into next 3 chs, sc in next 2 sc, rep from * to last ch-3 sp, sc directly into next 3 chs, sl st to first sc.

Rounds 12-16: Ch 1, sc in each sc around, sl st to first sc.

Rounds 17-26: Rep rounds 7-16, fasten off.

Finishing

With yarn needle, weave in loose ends carefully.
