Level of Curling: Light to no curling. More information on the natural curling of Tunisian crochet.

Instructions:

Tunisian Simple Stitch Two Together (tss2tog): Insert hook under two front vertical bars at the same time, yarn over, pull loop through.

Yarn Under (yu): The difference between the yarn under and the yarn over is solely the orientation of the legs of the stitch it makes. The yarn under works better for this stitch pattern. Pull the yarn toward you as though you are making a purl but hold it there on the hook with your index finger while you insert and pull up your next stitch. You need to hold it there the entire time or you will make a purled (wrapped) stitch. You want a stitch on your hook, not one wrapped around the stitch.

Foundation:
A: Ch an even number, sk first ch, *insert hook in next ch, yo, pull lp through, leave lp on hook, rep from * across.
B: Ch 1, [yo, pull through 2 lps on hook] across, 1 lp remains.

Row 1:
A: Sk first vertical bar, [tss2tog across next 2 sts, yu] to last st, insert hook in last st under two outer vertical bars, yo, pull lp through.
B: Ch 1, [yo, pull through 2 lps on hook] across, 1 lp remains.

Row 2:
A: Sk first vertical bar, tss in next st, [tss2tog across next 2 sts, yu] to last 2 sts, tss in next st, insert hook in last st under two outer vertical bars, yo, pull lp through.
B: Ch 1, [yo, pull through 2 lps on hook] across, 1 lp remains.

Rep rows 1-2 for pattern.

Notes: When working a flat swatch, I will typically make the last stitch under the two outer vertical bars for stability. It isn’t a requirement and I don’t use it for all applications of the same stitch pattern. It’s solely a finishing technique.

Many of you have written to me to ask how you can help support CrochetKim. A Patreon account was suggested but I thought it would be better to provide ad-free PDF's of my patterns. You can, of course, view, print ,paste to a word processor, convert to PDF's, etc, on your own. This is just an extra feature so that people help out if they want. Thank you to all of you for your overwhelming support and kindness these many years. Enjoy!
