Technique: Regular Crochet

This is another view of the poncho in a solid color. Note that it is regular fringe. I found that regular fringe was not satisfactory with chenille because it shed badly. For the actual pattern, I used chain loop fringe which worked out much better. This picture isn’t me; it’s my lovely sister.

Gauge

Special Stitches:

Modified Double Crochet (Mod Dc): YO, insert hook in sp indicated, YO and pull lp through (3 lps on hook). YO, pull through 1 lp (3 lps on hook). (YO, pull through 2 lps) twice. This creates a “foot” at the bottom of the double crochet, which is the proper location of placement for the next st.

Front Post Double Crochet (FPdc): YO. Insert hook from front to back on the right side of the dc. Going around the post of the dc, insert hook from back to front on the left side of the dc. Continue working dc normally.

Back Post Double Crochet (BPdc): YO. Insert hook from back to front on the right side of the dc. Going around the post of the dc, insert hook from front to back on the left side of the dc. Continue working dc normally.
