Floral Baby Skirt and Top Set
designed by Kim Guzman © Feb. 2014
Technique: Regular Crochet
Although the skirt can be made alone, if you would like the set as shown in the photo above, here are the links you will need. Be certain to also print your graph for the tank top, in both front and back, in the size you need. The graphs will depict the stripes for the Boricua Tank Top. When using the graphs for the Floral Baby Set, make the back in one solid color and the front using only the center stripe.
Boricua Patriotic Tank Top (sizes 9 months through 18 months)
Floral Baby Skirt (this page) (sizes 9 months through 18 months)
Materials for Skirt
- Red Heart Luster Sheen (335 yards per 4 ounces): 1 (2, 2) skeins (or approximately 330 (350, 370) yards
- Suggested hook sizes: G (4mm) and F (3.75mm) (or sizes needed to meet gauge)
- Tapestry needle (for weaving ends)
- 1/8″ elastic: 17 (18, 19)”
- Sewing thread: white (for sewing elastic together to make a ring)
- Sewing needle (for sewing elastic together to make a ring)
The yarn used in this project (Red Heart Luster Sheen) has been discontinued. I believe Patons Grace would be a good substitute.
Instructions are written for size 9 months (with 12 and 18 months written in parenthesis).

Preparation: Join ends of elastic with sewing needle and thread to form a ring. There will be some overlapping to ensure a secure joining.

Rnd 2: Ch 1, holding ring of elastic up to your work, work sc in each sc around, working OVER the elastic, sl st to first sc.
Rnd 3: Ch 1, sc in each sc around, sl st to first sc, fasten off, weave in all ends securely.
