Technique: Regular Crochet

Finished Size

approx. 7.5″

Materials

  • Lily Sugar ‘n Cream, size 4 100% cotton, colors used in samples: hot pink, hot blue and hot green; about 27-30 yards total required for one
  • Suggested hook size: Size K10-1/2 (6.5mm) crochet hook
  • Yarn Needle (for weaving ends)
  • Fabric Glue (optional)

Gauge

Gauge is not crucial for this project. The project is worked a bit loosely to make it nice and drapey.

Special Stitch

Cluster (cl): [Yo, insert hook in ring, yo, pull a loop through, yo, pull through 2 loops on hook] twice, yo, pull through 3 loops on hook.

Crochet Pattern Instructions

Round 1: With A, ch 4, sl st to first ch to form a ring, ch 1, [cl in ring, ch 2] 8 times, with B, sl st to first cl, fasten off A–8 cl.

Round 2: Now with B, sl st to first ch-2 sp, ch 1, [4 dc in ch-2 sp, ch 1] in each ch-2 sp around, sl st to first dc.

Round 3: Ch 1, [dc in each of 4 dc, ch 2] around, sl st to first dc.

Round 4: Ch 1, *hdc in dc, cl with first half in dc and second half in next dc, hdc in dc, ch 3, sc in ch-2 sp, ch 3, rep from * around, sl st to first hdc.

Round 5: Sl st to first cl, ch 1, *sc in cl, ch 3, sc in ch-3 sp, ch 3, sc in next ch-3 sp, ch 3, rep from * around, sl st to first sc. Fasten off. Weave in all ends carefully. Fabric glue can be used to help hold in the ends.
